The Publican House Brewery. Olde Stone Brewing. Smithavens Brewing. There’s another one set to join that list of Peterborough’s Craft Breweries. Beard Free Brewing.
From their website;
Beard Free Brewing is a local brewery in the Southeastern Ontario city of Peterborough. Our focus is providing fresh beer to the local market from our in-house tap and bottle room.
Some folks knows that my hometown is Peterborough, The Patch, Peteeeeerbooooroooough! So anytimes that a brewery is releasing new beer or opening a brewery in Peterborough, I gotta say something about it! I wish I could make it down for the grand opening but I will make my way over to Beard Free when I can.
I’ve been following their progress on Instagram, https://www.instagram.com/beardfreebrewing/ from brewing their beer to putting up their sign to the progress of their tap room. It’s great to have another brewery in Peterborough along with the others such as The Publican House, Olde Stone Brewing, and Smithavens.
According to the website, Beard Free will have four core beers with some familiar names that Peterborough residents will know. Simcoe St. IPA, Harstone Irish Red Ale, Lock 21 Cream Ale, and Little Lake Saison. See, I told you, you would know the names immediately. It screams Peterborough and that’s great! I’m surprised that the other breweries haven’t even done that at all.
It seems that the brewery is set to open on March 23/24. So empty your weekend and support a local brewery by purchasing (which I know I will be purchasing bottles, for sure. I’m also asking my family to head out that way and visit these guys as well.)
Where are they located? If you know where the Costco is, well, Beard Free isn’t far from them just down the road towards Lansdowne St. 649 Unit 4 The Parkway.
The hours aren’t set yet and will be released closely to opening date. I would suggest that you follow these guys on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook as they update daily.
