From Great Lakes Brewery,

It’s been said that a great sorcerer with a single magical vanilla bean can infuse the intense depth of flavour and aroma that is found in this ale.

Unfortunately, we are hideously short of such wizards at Great Lakes so instead we simply used 1001 vanilla beans.

Appearance |  Dark, deep brown with a foamy mocha head.

Smell | Vanilla, chocolate malts, roasted vanilla, light chocolate, and biscuit.

Taste |  Vanilla, sharp notes of alcohol, chocolate milk, hint of coffee, and hint of smokiness.

Aftertaste |  Vanilla, chocolate malts, and slight note of bitterness.

Overall | Though the title of this beer boasts vanilla bean, it’s not extremely sweet. It is smooth, and creamy. It is medium bodied with low carbonation, making it soothing to the palate. The flavours become more pronounced the closer the brew comes to room temperature. This beer is not for drinkers who are wary of strong notes of strong alcohol due to the bourbon, though the taste is nicely balanced with hints of vanilla, coffee, and chocolate.  From the Tank Ten Series, Harry Porter is a wickedly smooth and rich vanilla porter. Harry Potter himself would likely have ordered this instead of Butterbeer!
