From F&M Brewery;

“What happens when a brewery has 16 different unused malts and 15 different unused hops just sitting around like a bunch of misfits? You make a beer out of it, of course… a beer fit for the king of all misfits!”

Appearance | Dark brown that’s not showing any light with a creamy mocha head that settles into lace.

Smell | Roasted malts, hops, with coffee undertones.

Taste | Roasted malts, bitterness, coffee,  citrus, and hops.

Aftertaste | Dark finish with coffee, bitterness, and roasted malts.

Overall | “Come closer. What do you desire?”  King Moonracer asks.  Well, the answer is a Cascadian Dark Ale.   King Moonracer Cascadian Dark Ale is a medium-bodied brew that’s very enjoyable and balanced; the juxtaposition of citrus flavours, roasted malts and coffee is pleasantly effective.  It’s a misfit brew with it starts as an IPA and finishes as a Dark Ale.  The 7.8% is noticeable.   Sadly, King Moonracer left us too soon.  Will King Moonracer its return next Holidays?  Only time will tell.

And the name ‘King Moonracer’ came from Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer. He’s the King of Misfit Island of Toys.
