  • STYLE: Pale Lager
  • ABV: 4.5%
  • COUNTRY: Canada
  • REGION: Guelph, ON
  • BREWERY: Wellington Brewery

From Wellington Brewery,

Trailhead is a Vienna-style lager which is characterized by a careful balance of malt sweetness and clean, crisp hop bitterness. Brewed using 100% Canadian two row pale barley malt, this refreshing lager is the perfect beer for any occasion.

Appearance |  Clear golden body with a decently sized, white head.

Smell | Corn, honey, grains, bread, and faint hops.

Taste | Grains, honey, bread, malts, and faint hops.

Aftertaste | Lingering notes of honey and bitterness.

Overall | This is a light-bodied refreshing brew from Wellington Brewery.   It’s a session brew that can be enjoyed at any time of the year.   At its price of $41.50 for a case of 24 tallboys, it’s a great choice for the cottage, camping or even at home to share with fellow craft beer (and macro) drinkers.  It could be a good “gateway” to craft beer for friends who are skeptical of abandoning their macro habits. The Brew Head recently purchased a case of Trailhead for the long weekend at the cottage, it was a hit among friends, who said they planned to purchase a few of these tall cans in the near future.

Food Pairing | Burgers, chicken wings, and corn on the cob.
