From Amsterdam Brewery,
It started as an experiment that asked the question: “Exactly how many hops could fit in a beer?” Well, the brewers at Amsterdam answered that question so well that Boneshaker IPA graduated to the brewery’s line-up of always available favourites. And the beer that answered that question so admirably? An unfiltered IPA born from a continuous hopping method that blends Amarillo hops with seven different malts to produce a large hop character not for the faint of heart.
Appearance | Opaque amber with a light, off-white head.
Smell | Hops, pine, grapefruit, and malts.
Taste | Sharp bitterness, grapefruit, mango, hops, grass and malts.
Aftertaste | Tangy bitterness.
Overall | This is not a typical, garden-variety beer. Boneshaker is a happy alternative to enjoy occasionally. It is a crisp brew that is slightly overwhelming because of its lingering bitterness. The hops in this brew make it extremely abrupt on the palate, a result of combining seven different malts during it brewing process, perhaps making it a difficult sell to some beer drinkers. That said, it will be a favourite among true hopheads. If the average drinker feels like going on an adventure with the palate, take a ride with Boneshaker.
