From Kensington Brewing Co.;

“With an abundance of hops and a sweet caramel backbone, this is a true session beer. A grassy, nutty and flavourful malt body is balanced by delicate citrus hops and a touch of spice. Clocking in at 34IBU’s, this beer is just bitter enough to keep the hopheads coming back without being crushingly dry or astringent. Designed to be enjoyed often!”

Appearance | Clear golden amber, with a white lacing head.

Smell | Citrus, grass, pine, and hops.

Taste | Tart, floral hops, sweet malt, caramel notes, grapefruit, light bread, and slight bitterness.

Aftertaste | Refreshing and citrus-y.

Overall |  It’s a smooth and refreshing brew that has the perfect amount of bitterness.  It is a bold session brew that is crisp enough  to kick off the patio season.  This brew would be a fantastic pair with BBQ or savoury snack food. This is a must-have on tap.

Kensington Brewing Co. is coming out with another brew, Baldwin FishEYE-PA, in May 2013 at the LCBO. The curious and impatient beer drinker can venture to some pubs in Toronto to find it on tap before May. Look for a review of this in the near future.

If you want to support a Craft Brewery directly, Kensington Brewing Company launched a program called Community Supported Beer which will help them become a full production brewery in Kensington Market.   They created five different tiers of support. You can choose from a variety of options including the purchase of gift cards, initiating a membership in their one-off beer club, or even creating your very own beer with their Head Brewer.
