  • COUNTRY: Canada
  • REGION: Guelph, ON

From F&M Brewery;

“Beer or coffee today? If you can’t decide, why not have them together? Our Oatmeal Coffee Stout is brewed in partnership with our friends at Planet Bean, using a single origin roast called Cafe Feminino. Please note: This is a seasonal beer, available November to March.”

Appearance | Pitch black with a creamy-like mocha head.

Smell | Coffee, roasted malts, dark chocolate.

Taste | Silky coffee, roasted malts, dark chocolate and hints of black cherry.

Aftertaste | Sweet, biting finish

Overall | After a cold day, this will warm a spirit up.  It easily could pass for a breakfast beverage; it’s very rich with the flavours of chocolate and coffee.  The oatmeal taste that one would expect based on the title is barely evident.  This stout has all the makings of a true local staple by using its fresh ingredients in Guelph, ON.  The stout has won several Ontario Brewing Awards medals such as 2011 & 2012 OBA Gold Medal in Stout & 2012 OBA People’s Choice in Stout.  This brew is seasonal; available November to March.

This is currently on tap at The Woolwich Arrow as a part of its stout launch today (March 15, 2013) – It is highly recommended. It is a great reason to head on down to The Woolwich Arrow for its St. Patrick’s Day feast.   The current St. Paddy’s draft line-up consists of F&M Brewery Oatmeal Coffee Stout, McAuslan St-Ambroise Oatmeal Stout, Spearhead Belgian Stout, Mill St. Cobblestone Stout, Grand River Irish Red Ale, and Beau’s Strong Patrick Irish Red Ale – what a great lineup for St. Patrick’s weekend! Slainte!
