IMPERIAL RUSSIAN STOUT BY WELLINGTON BREWERY

  • STYLE: RUSSIAN IMPERIAL STOUT
  • ABV: 8%
  • IBU: 45
  • COUNTRY: CANADA
  • REGION: GUELPH, ONTARIO
  • BREWERY: WELLINGTON BREWERY

Appearance | Pitch black with a big biege head that settles after a couple of minutes.

Smell | Light smokey malts, roasted malts, and dark chocolate.

Taste | Dark chocolate, caramel, malts, nuts, smokey, and roasted coffee.

Aftertaste | Dry sweet, nutty, malts, and bitter.

Overall | This full-bodied stout was chosen to celebrate International Stout Day 2012. With the high alcohol percentage of 8%, it’s not as boozy as one would think.  It’s a bold and enjoyable imperial stout that’s well balanced with the bitterness and dark chocolate.   If you’re a fan of stouts, this one is right up your alley.
